it's time for me to reflect on myself this year, as well as jot down my plans for next year!

quick art recap, my favorite drawing of each month

2024 was a huge step of improvement for me, compared to 2023. My art is a lot more colorful, vibrant, and neatly composed compared to last year. I really think this was a great year for me and my art. I made my resolution to draw more backgrounds, and do more environmental type of drawings. I'd say I did pretty well, and I'm real proud of myself.

This yellow drawing is kinda simple with the bg, but I still like it a lot because of the vibes and stuff. IDK how to explain it but I really love the look of it.

I intend to go into 2025 with that same momentum, I usually dread backgrounds since i'm so use to just drawing characters behind a solid shape, but that shit is cringe if not done right, and i'm trying to do it right.

This year i started making small animations!

It started with this Swapnote loop back in April. It took me about a week to do, which made me realize that animation is mad work just for a small 1 sec, giving me a real admiration and respect for animators in general. I was enticed to do better since I do think the Nikki loop is a bit mehh now.

That May, the Paper Mario TTYD remake came out and I was playing tf out of it, I 100% the game in it's entirety. I decided to make an animation of Mario and Vivian dancing. A lot of people liked it and the animation became my most liked twitter post! I am DEF proud of it! It took a good 2 months because i was juggling between art and school, so I am extremely grateful it blew up.

I made another animation but i'll talk about it in a bit,

now let's talk about the Newgrounds events i participated in!

I participated in @loopykins' Valentines Day Collab!

I was tasked to make a Valentines' Card! Not only is it adorably corny, but I think my OC's look good in pink/red! Here's both the collab and my card.

FNF Weekend 1 was released, so I drew the Pico trio!

Pico Day came and went as usual, and I made my piece!

I made these 3 Pokemon gijinkas for @KittyhawkMontrose's upcoming Pokemon Gijinka Collab!

The rest of the year went by pretty smoothly.

The Nintendo DS turned 20!

I participated in the Nintendo DS Collab organized by @DannyGoodShirt and put together by @scottwjsm

Check it out if you haven't already! I made the Pokemon Black animation, which by far was the most ambitious thing I've worked on.

Finally came Newgrounds Secret Santa, and mine took a few extra days to submit since I was in the middle of a power outage, but I got it taken care of and submitted my user's gift!

My gift was absolutely fire! Scott has never looked any better!

That wraps up Newgrounds events!

Now moving on to my goals for 2025. I've already spoken about drawing more backgrounds in my art, but I want to make even MORE animations too, and be MORE involved in Newgrounds events and activities. Also, i've been on and off when it comes to learning game development, but I've been working on a small little platformer as a side project. I just wanna put my OC's in something outside of a drawing, while expanding my creative abilities too! I'll keep my mouth shut until it's actually presentable. But that's about all I have to share! it's been a fun year for me and my art. Since we're close to 2024, I thought why not go over what i enjoyed this past year?

pretty much my favorite drawings I did this year, my favorite NG events, and what I intend for the upcoming year.

(this is more of a personal thing, i believe it's good to journal down thoughts and shit, plus it's therapeutic for me)

Starting off, I made a cool concept art piece of my OCs because my last resolution was to draw them more.

I was inspired mostly by pokemon promotional art for sun and moon (god i love those games)

I have a list of things to draw, and half of them are Sun & Moon characters, ive drawn a lot of Pokemon recently...

Moving on, Pixel Day 2023 was really fun! I did my piece on cassette girl, which was a nice experience but i don't really hold much regard to anymore. (yes it's because of why you think).

i would like to make some more pixel art, but i'm not really that into it. I'd rather stick with my regular illustrations.

i made a valentine's day comic strip, someone asked for a part 2. maybe i'll do it, if i have an idea.

this was my first ever year participating! i planned a month in advance and my ass still didn't finish in time. But it don't matter cuz we love Pico Day all year round! I did a piece where we see everyone enjoy their stroll down a park over a bridge. I go more in depth on the actual post so go check there if interested.

Speedo released Punch Punch Forever! It was a hilarious and really well put animation. So I made some fanart for it.

Halloween came and went. Idk why but there's something about Halloween and Newgrounds that just fits together so well. idk what it is but regardless I made a Frankenstein/Tankman hybrid piece.

I got the chance to participate in the Crazy Bone's Gogo's Collab, hosted by ForgeFrog!

I didn't grow up with these figurines but that didn't stop me from joining. ngl i completely forgot about the collab until i got jumpscared by the 99+ notifs i got. Here was my contribution, i drew this purple character.

That's it for the NG events I participated in, I wanna talk briefly about the audio portal... THERE ARE SO MANY BANGERS ON HERE.

I'm pretty mainstream when it comes to music taste, but that doesn't stop me from coming to the audio portal occasionally and discovering some heat. lemme put y'all on to some of my favorite songs this year.

Now here are some drawings I did this year that I really like. (besides the ones previously mentioned)

I was pretty big into Splatoon this year, i made some cool art (looking forward to side order!!)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed released and I was motivated to make some more xenoblade related art.

(xenoblade characters are so hard to draw, their clothing is so complex)

The Amazing Digital Circus came out a few months ago. I did not think I would enjoy it but it was a fun watch. It prompted me to draw some art.

This summer I rewatched the Yo-kai Watch anime and I love it even more than I did back then. I'm thinking of drawing some more.

I did the Six Fanarts Challenge with Nintendo Characters! The NG art portal update was perfect for it!

I finally made a reference sheet for scott and abby.

For 2024 I want to draw more backgrounds, i did a few but i wanna keep at it since i've been lacking recently. From now on if i go a month without posting a drawing with a background,

you are obligated to say "yo where's that background yam???"

That's pretty much it. I have nothing else to say, i dunno how to write a conclusion paragraph. just stop reading.
